Read the listing and booking instructions first, then ask your RV rental host about the points that remain unclear. A focused message is easier to answer than a request to explain the entire rental again. Keep the answers with your booking so you can refer to them at handover.
The questions below organize a preparation conversation. They do not establish rental terms or replace the instructions for your actual RV. Start with the questions that apply to your trip and leave out those already answered.
1. What is included for our group?
Ask which bedding, towels, cooking and eating supplies, cleaning and bathroom supplies, chairs, flashlight and first-aid items are provided. Confirm quantities and bed sizes, not just whether an amenity appears in a photo. Is a requested item standard, an optional package or something you must bring?
Useful wording: Please confirm bedding for each sleeping place and towels for our group. We will bring anything you identify as not supplied. Keep uncertain items open until you receive an answer.
2. What are the pickup or delivery arrangements?
Confirm the agreed time, meeting instructions, access arrangements and contact if plans change. For delivery, ask whether campground permission is needed and who will meet the host. Confirm who handles positioning, leveling, utility connections, tank service and collection, including any separate charges.
Say explicitly whether the RV will remain parked. Delivery followed by driving elsewhere needs different preparation from a stationary stay; do not assume the original arrangements cover a changed plan.
3. What utilities and equipment will we use?
Check your reserved pitch with the campground: electricity and amperage, drinking water, sewer at the pitch, and shared fill or dump facilities. Give the host those confirmed details and ask what supplied equipment and operating plan suit this RV.
If the campground only says partial hookups, ask what that means for your reservation. A shared dump station does not confirm a sewer connection beside the RV. Unknown utilities are a reason to ask, not a reason to buy a power station or an adapter at random.
4. What must we confirm before driving or towing?
For a road trip, ask for the RV's dimensions, applicable route and destination restrictions, approved-driver requirements and relevant towing compatibility information. Confirm mileage and generator allowances and how usage is recorded. Ask where the vehicle documents and instructions are kept.
If you are renting a trailer, have the host review the proposed tow vehicle and required equipment rather than judging compatibility from the trailer's sleeping capacity. For a stationary delivered stay, focus on the agreed limits on moving the RV instead.
5. What will you show us at handover?
Ask to review the existing condition and inventory together, then see the controls, appliances, utility systems and power limits demonstrated. Request the driving, towing or delivered-stay walkthrough that matches your plan. Ask how to find the manual and how to report an issue.
Leave time to ask again about anything you do not understand. Keep your own photos and agreed notes. Rental Prep records your preparation; its review marks are not a platform departure form or proof that the RV has passed an inspection.
6. Who do we contact during the trip?
Save the host's contact and the booking provider's support or roadside instructions on your own device. Ask which contact handles an appliance question, a delivery/setup problem or a breakdown, and what the booking says to do if the host is unavailable.
Do not copy a support number from an unrelated rental into your plan. Contact arrangements differ, and your booking instructions are the place to confirm the current process.
7. What exactly is required at return?
Confirm time and location, key handoff, condition recording, cleaning, rubbish and linens. Ask who handles fresh water and waste tanks. For a drive/tow trip, clarify fuel and propane levels, mileage and generator-hour reporting. For delivery, agree when to vacate and who disconnects and collects the RV.
Ask the host to point you to the applicable charges and requirements in your agreement. A task included in one booking may be the renter's responsibility in another.
A short message you can adapt
Hi! We are preparing for our RV rental. We plan to [drive or tow / stay in the delivered RV]. I have checked the listing but still need to confirm [the specific supplies and quantities]. Our campsite has [confirmed utilities, or what we are still checking]. Could you confirm the handover arrangements, who handles setup and tanks, and the return requirements that apply to our booking? Please also point us to the operating instructions and the right support contact. Thank you!
Replace the brackets with your own details and remove questions already answered. This is a draft for you to review and send through the appropriate booking channel; our site does not contact your host.
Keep the answers separate from the unanswered questions
Use Rental Prep to mark confirmed inventory, what you will prepare, what is not needed and what still needs a host answer. Its Copy host questions action creates a draft from the unresolved items and questions you have not marked reviewed.
The tool does not store the host's replies or verify the booking. Keep those records yourself and copy, download or print your preparation plan before leaving the page. That gives the conversation a practical outcome without turning a rental into a shopping list.
